Project Room

January 29, 2011

The age game seems to be playing with my head. Lately, I’ve been obsessing about houses and cars and grown up stuff really. You know, the kind of things you write down on goals lists and “where I see myself in 10 years” categories. Am I that old?

Anyway, while I can’t afford to get those on my own yet, I decided to start small instead. Finally, after months and months of procrastination, my room project is now slowly being realized. This is the kind of room that I want to have.

I got it from the internet. (Sorry, I forgot the source already) It’s actually a teenage boy’s bedroom, and what I like about it is it works with a small space like what I have. I love the bed and how it has a pull-out, which is perfect for me and my sister. Plus, the drawers add more space for all my clutter.

Blue is my favorite color, but I think this is too much blue and white. The color scheme would probably be more of the grayish-blue palette and more natural wood colors that are soothing to the eyes and very relaxing to come home to after a hard day’s work.

The desk space is just right and the shelves are perfect. With the cabinets not pictured, I imagine mine to have sliding mirrors as doors.

But of course, re-doing a room takes hard labor, time, and inevitably money. So I plan to carry out this project through baby steps. Hopefully, I get to finish this project. *fingers crossed*

What do you think?
